System Architecture
Structure before code.
We model the delivery system before the build begins: workflows, data, constraints. The architecture becomes the framework every later decision is measured against.
The Shift
Fieldstate combines systems architecture, engineering, and AI-native delivery to reduce complexity before it becomes technical debt.
Read our State of AI-Assisted and Agentic Development reportThe Studio
Modern software delivery is no longer constrained by code output.
It's constrained by clarity, structure, and architectural judgement.
Fieldstate combines systems architecture, engineering, and AI-native delivery to help organisations build systems that remain coherent as they scale.
Every engagement refines the practice. Every product proves an idea. Everything worth keeping becomes open.
The Stack
Organised by capability, not by framework. Every surface maps to the technology behind it.
What We Do
System Architecture
Structure before code.
We model the delivery system before the build begins: workflows, data, constraints. The architecture becomes the framework every later decision is measured against.
AI-Native Delivery
Human architecture, AI-accelerated execution.
AI-assisted specification and implementation, with human architectural judgement throughout: codegen, spec validation, agent workflows, traceability. The actual delivery workflow, not a marketing layer.
Delivery Stabilisation
Recovery for stalled builds.
Stalled rewrites. Fragmented teams. Code that ships without value. When delivery loses coherence, we surface the architecture and restore momentum.
Platform Engineering
Infrastructure that compounds.
The long-lived foundation: deployment topology, internal platforms, developer experience. The layer your engineers stand on for the next five years.
Embedded Architecture
Architects inside the build.
Senior systems architecture embedded directly into high-stakes delivery initiatives. Structural thinking, not advisory theatre.
How We Work
Three phases. Each one earns the next. The architecture sets the framework. Engineering follows.
Surface the actual system: constraints, dependencies, what is real.
Architecture made visible. Decisions framed, trade-offs documented.
Engineering against the architecture. AI-augmented, calibrated, traceable.
Open Engineering
Everything we build is designed to teach. Fieldstate publishes open standards, reference implementations, and working products. Not because open source is fashionable. Because architecture should be inspectable.
Open Standard
OASP
The Open Agent Session Protocol. A vendor-neutral contract for a managed agent with sessions, memory, and tools, shaped on the Anthropic Managed Agents API and written as the first step toward Loom.
LLM Gateway
Loom
An LLM gateway that gives you one managed agent over any provider. You write against a single contract; Loom uses native provider features where they exist and supplies them itself where they don't, levelling every provider up instead of down.
Open Toolkit
WorkSpec Studio
The open core of WorkSpec: costed architecture decisions as reviewable YAML artifacts, and C4 diagram tooling in progress.
Product
Slipway
A local-first task board with a built-in learn-loop. ADHD-first focus, spaced repetition, no server, no accounts.
When it's time to move
If delivery has drifted, the architecture is unclear, or the system has outgrown the way it started — Fieldstate helps bring shape back to it.
